Broken Brush

★★★★★ What I love about this game is that you have take a deep dive and focus on for small changes in the artwork. In so doing you gain knowledge of the artist and his/her technique. Incredibly rewarding. Please let me know if you add more versions of Broken Brush. I would definitely recommend.

★★★★★ Broken Brush is a work of, um... art. This is a dilettante's dream: the perfect excuse to get up close - REALLY close - to 85 of the world's most celebrated works of art, and not have to write essays about them afterwards (or endure modern-day art gallery hassles like mobile phones and noise-leaking headphones). Digital image-editing software is enormously powerful, but happily has been used here with a light touch. Many of the changes in these 'spot the difference' puzzles are extremely subtle. It makes for a very enjoyable challenge. Although there are 100 paintings in this virtual exhibition, only the first 85 (only?!) are free; the last 15 are kept behind one of those thick plush velvet rope barriers so beloved of galleries and stately homes. You have to pay to see what's beyond it... Despite this, I still think this great app deserves 5 stars.
