Dawn of the Dragons: Ascension - Turn based RPG

★★★★★ Played since early access, then took a break, then played some more. Parts of the game were confusing and there's a lot of menus, but the gameplay itself is fun. I really like the grid/shape-based mechanic with the fighting. I hope to see more of that in the future!

★★★★★ I came to this game because of the original Dawn of the Dragons game. Dawn of the Dragons: Ascension is in early access, but while the Devs are working on things, I'm giving them 5* for the following reasons. (1) 5th Planet is trying to keep the spirit of the original game while attempting something new. (2) DotDA is set up to encourage play. Energy recharges at 1 point/30 seconds for both honor energy and stamina energy. I appreciate this. (3) The Devs have constant Raids going to allow quick burning of energy (for gold farming). I like this because this means if I don't have time to play much, I can burn off my energy in a minute and move on. (4) I like the concept of Group Instances, Guild Instances, and Guild Campaigns. These are the main ways to farm other materials needed in the game and take more time to play. (5) I REALLY like that the Devs really take community feedback seriously. Primarily this is via their official forums or Discord. However, I made YouTube videos on the game and they said they'd watch them. And they made some improvements to some of the things I pointed out. ------- The game is still in early access. So the while the game is certainly very playable and such, the Devs are continuing to improve and grow the game. But that also means there are bugs and some game mechanics that at the time of this review, are being looked at to fixes/improvements. But because of the high levels of communication with the community, I'm giving them a break on the flaws, thus my 5* review,

★★☆☆☆ I really tried to like this game. And I was excited to play it. The character creation aspect is ridiculous because the game has the option to pick a third gender. There is only two genders! Do not put politics in games ...

★★☆☆☆ So, seeing 2 reviews one of them is 3 stars and the other a 1 star. I'm going to give this game a 1 star for having 5 stars on Google play, which is impossible with only 3 reviews; talk about pay to win.

★★☆☆☆ Waste of time. Low quality graphics, uninspiring gameplay, just a cash grab and lazy devs.

★★☆☆☆ I wish I could give this zero stars. Clunky mechanics, not user friendly at all. Falling into the trap of thinking "more is better" whereas the simpler DotD that this is borrowing a name from (and that's all that is even remotely similar) was and still is a far better game. Gameplay-wise content is confusing, battle mode is terrible (not even going into the stupid way that attacks "work") the grid is terrible, not easy to navigate with abilities and there is no flow to the game whatsoever.......
