Best TTS reader I've found! I rarely write reviews, but this app does what I need it to do well it deserves extra attention. If you need audio to read along with screen text this app is for you. I use cere voices to change up the sound and make it sound more natural. You can train pronunciation, adjust speed, and it remembers your spot. I mostly use this to read old books that don't have audiobooks available.

Regarding TTS, most likely it was fixed via removing battery optimization, I use a separate app now for TTS, TTS-Server-android the reason I only rated Evie to 4 star because the multi-voice doesn't work 100% on evie, it's a setup to have separate voice for "narration" and "dialogue" [triggers when sentence is under quote], in Evie it only works on single sentence but not on paragraph. e.g. "sentence 1. Sentence 2" should be in dialogue mode but in evie only sentence 1 is the dialogue.

I just downloaded it and for reasons I can't explain, it keeps stopping. It never opened on my device. I was really looking forward to using the app, but I had to uninstall it, unfortunately.

This would literally be perfect, it has everything I need except for the extremely super basic ability to type my own text. That's so disappointing. Also, I really hate the way highlighting text works. It's just too bad that the app is basically useless to me because I can't read copy and pasted text. I don't want to have to use a separate app to create a new file every single time and save all that stuff to my phone for no reason

Overly contrived menus and settings that don't make any sense at all. In my ideal world, I'd want to open a book, and not have it import it, doubling the spaced used on my phone. Then I'd like to be able to select the TTS voice I want to use as an obvious option, but that is not in the preferences. Then the nail in the coffin that has me uninstalling this before using it was the reams of freakishly useless settings that don't come with any worthwhile description, like "Detect Duplicate Text"
