I am impressed with Exotica. I've spoken to real people (vs. bots) on the phone, who were knowledgeable and friendly. I just took my first trip with this company to Ecuador. Everything was arranged from airport pickup to tour guides. Lodging was superb. Our hotels in Quito and Guayaquil were located in upscale neighborhoods. Our Quito/ Amazon guide, Erik, is knowledgeable with the surroundings. I truly enjoyed the special surprise trips he planned along the way. Amazon trip the best food!

Unfortunately I do not recommend Exotica. We took a tour across Spain, the tour bus was without A/C for 3 days. Each day we were told a repair was scheduled, but that never happened and made travel VERY uncomfortable. Commentary on the tour bus, 5–8 hours on average, was dismal. I learned more about the various towns from local guides or when taking taxis during free time....don't waste your money, pick another company to travel with.

Paid extra for superior hotels but found ourselves staying at same hotels & room standard as 'charm'. Some hotels bordered on 3* with moldy & cracked tiles in the bathroom but was told that this is equivalent to local 4*!! My last ever exotica holiday!

I'm not happy with the experience at all. Had to ride around too long trying to find animals on the Safari. Hotel in Capetown was like a ghetto hood roach motel in a bad part of town. Needed a guide to know where to go and not go in Capetown. Exotica could do a lot better with organizing this trip. The best part of the trip was Ryan, our host at the Safari, she was great, a real people's person. The airline was horrible, with the transfers and changing flights its too much.
