Very good ebook reader. Few suggestions... Scrolling should be smoother. Text to speech and reading mode should be brought to PDF too. Translate/dictionary option pop up should appear close to the selected word instead of at the top/bottom of the screen.

My fav reader. A few quibbles. The brightness slider is a little too narrow. I have to pull the case slightly off to get it to work. An issue is the Read Aloud feature. Somehow the same Google voice in another reader sounded a LOT better than in FBR. Also, and worse, I installed the free, although not maintained, TTS Server tts engine and the FBR voice selector cannot see it. The (lousy) Speak tts engine IS visible in FBR. I may have to switch. Wish: ability to mark a book as Read.

Best reader that I have been using for the last 10+years

Has been installed on my Android phones and tablets for years now, probably not long after I moved to the Android platform. It has always been bombproof, but the latest update has so many little niggles to resolve to make it usable again, but the absolute horror, is the brightness of screen is now totally knackered. Obviously used the finger up the side of display. No joy. Tried altering settings that have worked for years, no joy. No means of communication with FB Reader team other than here!

Cannot reliably read basic PDFs. No longer functions properly on external storage. Deleting books from within the app appears to work, but does nothing. Cannot sort library properly; library refuses to find books until it finally does; kludge after kludge instead of redesigning the app to work right on Android 9 & later. Invasive permissions. Devs do not respond, but do take your money. This is a dated and frustrating app now. Not worth using. Shame on you developers!

I hate that I had to buy this. They disabled the TTS+ Pluggin in the free version of FBR and lied, saying that since it was old the pluggin was "losing features" and wouldn't let me use it. I paid my money and the pluggin works fine again. And it has more features than the reader they've built into FBR. The only reason I'm not refunding this scam is that it's the cheapest ereader with TTS functionality.
