Flagstack - Capture the Flag

★★★★★ The app is small, lightweight, does not drain your battery a lot. It does not require constant in-app purchases to keep playing. It does require a constant data connection, for updates, but uses little data. It will take advantage of offline Google Maps too. As to the game, it's partly a virtual treasure hunt, it's partly a sport; a great way to get out and get exercise, ideally with friends. You need to get near to each virtual flag to capture (cap) it. (All flags stay on the map for others to cap.) Flags are already deployed all over the world; win more flags just by playing, and earn points when others cap your flags. If you are unlucky enough to start to play somewhere there are no flags yet, then it's still worthwhile to start playing, with a friend. Each player gets a bundle of flags to deploy, around their area, and each play day, another free one, and another free for every 10 found, so easy to grow the map in towns or parks. More players boost the fun. As to costs, it's practical to play for free, with infrequent in-app adverts, BUT a cheap annual subscription provides many benefits, which include free special flags, extra daily benefits and no adverts in-app.

★★☆☆☆ Great app, until I realized that you are forced to have endless Jumper Flag notifications unless you buy premium. It's the first time I've seen stopping notifications put behind a pay wall.

★★☆☆☆ Mock location I have no mock location afford installed, and your app is telling me I do I only have GPS Status and toolbox installed

★★☆☆☆ No free flags Everyone, check out munzee and geocaching. Munzee is the exact same and their "green flags" are free. Simply make green flags unlimited and free. As well as fix the deployment bugs. And finally it needs an api so apps such as locus can load in the flags.

★★☆☆☆ Fun game to play while out and about. Edit Apr 2023 ... reinstall game as I'd not played for ages. Jumpers still infuriating. Dozens pop up nearby but never close enough to capture when your at home/work or the shops, times perfect to grab jumpers.
