Home Automation Remote Heating

★★★★★ Great hardware, software needs a little development Perfect if you work shifts, very easy to install and set up, one improvement would be a widget for my home screen to tell me the temperature at home and an indicator as to if the thermostat is calling for the boiler, also, just an idea, but if the app could access my location it could say, turn the heating on when im within a 5 mile radious of my house, just a thought

★★★★★ Simple and effective The British-made kit is simple to install and does its job very well. The app works well but has an annoying bug where it creates unnecessary copies of its own home page. The UI design could be improved a little, and it would be great to see some "smart" features added in future updates. You can try out the app before you buy - just log in with username 'demo' and password 'demo'.

★★☆☆☆ I've used this for a while, and it's been fine but today when trying to add a new device it's just freezing, and I can't reset. A friend is having the same issue trying to log into our account. This basically is rendering the heating useless at the moment.

★★☆☆☆ First impressions, the website set up video so unhelpful, a PDF crib sheet would be so much better. The stat push buttons have so limited movement they are almost impossible to detect if they have been pressed completely un tactile. Compare to the Hive mobile phone interface, which is poor, this is worse! Everyone knows what a schedule is, I'm guessing you have decided profile to try and be different. I am an engineer and this is so un intuitive! The buttons at the bottom of the phone app, I guess they do something? On the main phone screen it shows nothing relevant. What time is it going off? ADV shown but doesn't work? What on earth is Segment 2!! Give me a simple calendar or schedule view, a whole screen with rolling numbers, think about it! Use the phone real estate that is there to display something useful. I guess the 3.5" floppy means save? Save what, did I not save what I had done? I selected Combi as my device, so I now have HW illuminated on the controller, why? It was supposed to replace the Hive I have, which drops connections faster than a hot potato. So much promise but the interface needs so much work its not worth investing my time in it. The buttons on the stat. Simply have to go as they have zero tactile feedback. The Stat display is about as intuitive as a 2-year-old with crayons. No useful feedback on the display about what times It's advanced to, not even if it has registered an advance!! Deselect boost on the stat, the limited info on the stat doesn't clearly show it's been deselected. On the phone, it still shows boost. This product looks like it has been around about 7 years. If it is only at this stage after 7 years, which is so, so far behind in terms of functionality and performance and a UI that is just awful. I will spend the time developing the Raspberry Pi unit to be a complete Home Automation device, rather than learning how to overcome the limitations of this. Sticking with the Hive for now even with all its faults!
