TL;DR - 5/5 content, 3/5 app due to issues with usability. I found this app after reading Matthieu Ricard's great book "why meditate". At first, I tried to follow Matthieu's sessions. However, I didn't find them very useful because there wasn't much guidance and the video aspect is somewhat distracting. I have recently been listening to Charles Hastings' sessions which I feel are much more useful for me. However, the app crashes every time I unlock the screen after finishing a session which is very frustrating. EDIT: Bugs have been fixed on my device after the Feb 20 update (crashing after sessions and not being able to proceed). But, the recent change has made it (as far as I can tell) mandatory to have the screen on for audio-only recordings (e.g. Charles Hastings'), whereas before it was possible to turn off the screen and just listen to the guidance. This is really distracting - the point is to actually use these recordings as a guide for your practice, not to have your phone in front of you and stare at photos (no matter how beautiful they are) I suggest that it should be possible to listen to ANY session as audio-only, even the ones where there is an associated video.

Mathieu Ricard & Alan Wallace are the the best and most authentic
contemporary Meditation teachers!! Their teachings come from the heart!! I
have reviewed more than 100 apps on meditation, mindfulness & training the
mind. The depth & clarity of teachings in this app are superlative and
unmatched! Developing Lovingkindness and Compassion are as important as
cultivating mindfulness: and this is the only App which covers these
aspects skilfully. Some subscribers have complained about this App being
expensive: on the contrary I would say that the annual subscription of
about 60 Euros is very reasonable. In fact access to these teachings made
available freely to us by this App is priceless!! Thank you IC and the
entire core team including the great teachers!!

Cannot evaluate without subscribing Without subscribing there is no way to evaluate. One has to clck a subsrube button without first having a clear specification of cost, length of subscription etc. Most Apps offer a free trial. Perhaps all this would become clear after clicking subscribe but it is not obvious.lso, I am reluctant to click a subscribe. Also, the pricing aporach suggests Matthew Ricard doesn't really have faith in altruism.

Too expensive ..why does mr. Methiew ricard want happiness only for people who can pay this much of money? Happinesses should be. for masses not only for classes. Even if we see the charity purpose behind this fees...it would be better when fees is cut down then more and more people will be able to join the program and there will be more amount for charity
