KeeperChat Encrypted Messenger

★★★★★ There is now a whole in encrypted text messaging now that signal ended its sms functionality. Would be great to see another app you could use as your phone messaging app you could message directly to other phone numbers that was secure and encrypted

★★★★★ I can't get notifications to work. My husband has a Samsung Galaxy S9+, I had a Samsung Galaxy Note 9, and I now have a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and notifications don't (didn't) work on any of them. I love the app otherwise. I would just like to know I have a message to check, I don't need highlights of the message until I log into the app.

★★☆☆☆ Good app (feature wise), but way too expensive. So-called "free" version is only free for 30 days, then you pay $20/yr. So if you want to use this app with say, four of your friends or family members, collectively that will cost $100 per year, which is just plain ridiculous. Also, this app forces you to set up a "Keeper Security" account, which is a really huge nuisance unless you already pay for and use Keeper. Last, I expect that my carrier's messaging app, which is free to use, will start providing most of Keeper Chat's features in a few months. Bottom line: Keeper Chat is just too expensive (unless you absolutely need it to comply with HIPAA, you cheat on your spouse, or you do a lot of sexting).

★★☆☆☆ Signing up using the app registers accounts in the US. There is no option to select the region it signs you up to. My existing account is in the EU, but my family would end up on US servers. There is no interworking between regions. This means it won't work for me and my family or if you have family in different parts of the world. No practical workaround exists because it redirects signing up using web browser access to your region. Would be great if it wasn't broken.

★★☆☆☆ Sent an invitation to some of my contacts that I did NOT invite or even CONSENT to invite! Definitely uninstalling! The only reason they got 2 stars and not 1 is because I like the idea behind it.
