I'm only a few days in, (trying to learn Portuguese as we have two sets of Brazilian neighbors now) and I can already see that this is more effective than Duolingo, which I once used to try and learn Italian for 1,000 consecutive days without retaining much at all! If there's one criticism it's the lack of any speaking exercises, at least none that I've encountered so far.

This app is helping me learn Portuguese fast. Although it doesn't have any questions which you need to speak, you can still repeat after the voice, which I find helps. Also, most importantly, it has no features that require paying for (premium only removes ads). Definitely really good app. But also, to language learners, remember - while learning apps can help you get started, immersion is always the best learning method

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE distinguish the letters capital "I" from lower case "l" more easily-they look EXACTLY ALIKE! And, lessons on sentence structure and grammar would be helpful, besides just words alone, because I don't have a clue how to properly speak the language I'm learning, no matter how many words I may learn. I also need to know what these punctuation marks mean, and how to use them. I'm no linguistic expert, but there's so much more to learning any language than just the words alone.
