Overall, convenient to use for many services. Recommended app to have in Laos. The one negative is the lack of transparency in fees. Unlike other ride hailing apps I've used (like Grab), the fee for Loca is almost always higher than the estimated amount. Also, for the QR payment service where you can link your credit card, I did not see any notice stating the % fee taken from each transaction. This is something that should be clearly communicated.

It was a really good option in my trip to Laos. Can pay almost anywhere where they accept QR codes. The commission is a bit high and sometimes didn't make sense with a minimum amount charged for small transactions, without an option to find this info anywhere before you pay. But withdrawing money is also expensive (local bank fee, from your card and your bank) it was still quite reasonable. In the end it was a bit more expensive but much easier. Taxi option too expensive, never used it.

The third time I used the app, it suggested a price like the first two times, but this time in the end got charged almost double with the extra fees added like the convenience fee whatever that is. Also, the distance fee can be more if the driver takes a longer route. Isn't that the whole point of the ride-sharing apps partially, so we don't get scammed by taxi drivers running their meter.

Terrible experience using this app as a foreigner in Laos. Impossible to pay by card as the app would still deduct from the wallet instead causing a deficit which then needed to be paid manually by qr code given by customer service over WhatsApp. Multiple tries, same issues. In the end my card was blocked by my bank giving me more trouble to have to unblock it. I decided to use In drive which was much easier with no hassle.
