Memrise: speak a new language

★★★★★ I enjoy using this app, but I wish it was a little bit more thorough with the words, and it would be nice if they had it, so you could maby ask how to say something in the language your learning rather than just learn what they want you to, you can learn more of what you think you would be using.

★★★★★ So far, an amazing experience! The videos with native speakers are great. The tests include dialogue sequences, and you can rewatch them with subtitles after! The app reminds you of the phrases learned a while ago, which is very nice. Upd: returned to this app after some time away, and it had an update, and it's AMAZING!! Everything has changed. The words and phrases now come in topics, and there is speaking practice now!! Thank you developers for this app! :)

★★☆☆☆ I used to love Memrise. I don't know who they sold out to, but they are a horrible product now. They traded substance for aesthetics and destroyed everything that made them a great learning tool.

★★☆☆☆ EDIT: it got even worse. I reinstalled to see if there were any changes. It doesn't allow you to download the lessons anymore and the default course progress is lost, so you can't easily review past lessons. I've lost all my progress and community courses, the set courses don't have any kind of structure, and I can't opt out of the AI tool - every other lesson it actually pushes me to use it and I need to exit the lesson and go back and select each section manually.

★★☆☆☆ I loved this app. So much I bought LIFETIME access. They updated awesome. I sign in my progress is still there GREAT. BUT they are yet again trying to get me to buy LIFETIME access. Now I am not that old lifetime for them is clearly a short span and last I checked I haven't yet and don't intend to die. Let alone several times in order to buy thos membership again and again. Feels like theft.

★★☆☆☆ Came back to this app after a hiatus and the updates are incredibly awful. No support for community courses and now the app implements AI. Very disappointed. I'm uninstalling.
