I've used Merlin Ai for the past 3 months-ish (its currently Feb 2025) and the app is excellent. You can switch between various models (gemini, deep seek, chatgpt, claude, etc.) I encountered a bug where not all of your chat history will appear if it's too long, but you can still access it through the website. I'm sure it'll get fixed soon though. Overall pretty great. 🙏

The free version of the app is good in terms of AI chatbot functionality. But, it is accessing other phone apps, without my consent or me providing any access for the app to access other apps. This is serious privacy issue. I have openai chatgpt n copilot apps, which do not interfere with other phone functionality, whereas merlin is too much intrusive n that too without my knowledge/permission. Totally unacceptable.

I liked this app until I was screwed over. During an event where if you used the app every day to earn a token you could get rewarded with pro for how long you keep your streak going. What the devs did not say nor is there mentioned to be is that they could pause your account at any time basically locking you out from being able to use the app for a MONTHLY LIMIT. They claim it's for "fairness" but HOW IS THAT FAIR!? They screwed me out of my steak and have basically banned me for using the app.
