This is a brilliant climber's tool. It's a great way to explore new areas. Often it is the only guide for some crags. There's still room for industrious climbers to make money with good guide books and tops.
★★★★★
Used for work surveying climbing routes for USFS and have used as a climber and boulderer going out crushing. In general, the info is accurate, but keep in mind it's crowdsourced, so that's not a promise. Great app tho and works fairly well even without service.

Functional and helpful. I wish you could leave comments on the app rather than having to go to a computer (or maybe I'm just missing something)
★★☆☆☆
This app should be called "Boulder Project" I'm here for rock climbing, not bouldering! This app is nearly useless because you must spend literally half your time sorting between boulders and actual routes. Lame! This app could be so good
★★☆☆☆
Nothing works, I cannot search anything, nothing loads on the near me map, I can't download any areas.
★★☆☆☆
Things that are STILL broken: - New tick date changes +/- a day almost every time. - Can't load other people's ticks. - Can't expand/zoom on forum photos. - Can't add photos to forum posts via app. - Can't add comments to routes via app. - Can't play videos in full screen, whether embedded in a forum post or going to the actual site (like YouTube) inside the MP app. - New routes/areas are added to MP website and are available on iOS almost immediately but weeks later still not on Android.
★★☆☆☆
My gf and I are both experienced in orienteering in the outdoors. But trying to find specific routes in the Alabama Hills was very frustrating. We could see lots of bolts and routes, but not the routes we wanted to climb. The route directions and photos were not at all helpful, and the lack of GPS coordinates meant we wasted several hours tramping around on fragile desert soils...without ever finding the routes we wanted to climb (Nut N Honey, and Chiclets). Screw this...waste of time.
★★☆☆☆
Unless traveling the app is mediocre at best. All the information is to be taken with a grain of salt and is often not 100% accurate. It was a usable resource previously but after being bought by onX it sucks. Why would I have to pay a subscription to access information the climbing community has put together for free.
