Well worth supporting. I've used Next PVR on and off for two or three years. On because it's the best non-Windows Media Center PVR for a Windows PC, and off because, well, it’s not Windows Media Center. (I'm a big fan of WMC, it got everything right more than a decade ago.) Next PVR however is reliable and resource-light and with this app, Android devices can control and play TV content. It's not the shiniest of interfaces and in places it's a little, er, backwards, compared to WMC, but it's still a fantastic achievement. I have high hopes for version 5. The (I think) sole developer is doing a great job. Support him, and it's not beyond the realm of possibility that NPVR could be a really good replacement for WMC when MS finally pull the (guide) plug. It does one thing - being a PVR - well (Kodi take note.)

No support! The forum does not provide assistance on how to add a server. I have been using Next PVR with the browser for years outside my network with much success, but cannot use the app as the "failed to connect" message appears.

Disappointing. I want to be able to "chase" a .ts recording-in-progress. I run NPVR on Windows, V4 on port 8867, V5 port 8866. The app defaults to 8867, I can't find a way to change to 8866. The app won't recognize a second server setting. I shouldn't have to reconfigure my NPVR Windows to accommodate the app. VLC for Android won't allow pause/ff/jump with .ts files. KODI, while buggy, lets me configure to either port, works with .ts, allows me to "chase" a recording. KODI gets my vote.

Loads of channels which perfectly in Kodi and through the native PC Next PVR
app wouldn't play on this app. The app also doesn't have an option to turn
transcoding off. And finally, $9.99 for an app that plays IPTV from a FREE
media server setup? Rather ridiculous. Better off to install Kodi and the
add-on than this overpriced rip.
