I'm really impressed. A Perl ego subscription offers a huge selection of the best academic textbooks around, including those that run $150+. I'm now able to read those books that were priced out of my reach. Easy on the eyes, you can select background paper color, font, font size. You can highlight, annotate, export references when citing, sync all this on the PC. They really have thought of what an academic needs. It is to academic books what Mandela for PC is to Journal articles.

Lots of updated books that are reliable with my field of interest. However, the books that I downloaded cannot be futher uploaded into my laptop and sometimes the books are not sensitive to keyword finding. But, no worries I found the solution! I just need to download the book in my hp then, when I read online in my laptop, that book will become sensitive to the keyword search.

Perl ego itself is wonderful. But the app for android phones seems to have a number of bugs

I paid for service for nearly a year until I gave up because the app is so insanely frustrating. It crashes constantly. It frequently does not save one's place in the book. It doesn't really work offline. And the funny thing is that they haven't fixed anything even though after reading these reviews, clearly, many issues exist that have not been resolved since it launched. It's too bad because they have such a wonderful selection of books that you'll never read because of the app.

The app is much more limited concerning options than the web version. If you want to touch the top frame of the screen, you end up moving the page. I have no idea why, but this is the only app where dragging the phone menu from above requires skillful touching; otherwise, you drag the book page. Moreover, if you have not locked the rotation of the screen, you will have fun seeing the app adjusting the text back and forth, an inefficient behavior. Try selecting text; you'll get a bad experience.
