I had a problem that turned out to be my own Wi-Fi. The Heater wasn't responding to the scheduler until I fixed a blocked port on my firewall. Now everything works as it should. It integrates well with Home Assistant. HA cannot see the water or electric usage. The Rheem App can and does report electric usage. The app is better than I thought. It does misreport after the app wakes from sleep. You can fix it by restarting or navigate home and back to the device.

So far it has been a good experience, but I believe it will soon not work on my phone because they won't support my perfectly fine Galaxy S10+. Very frustrating since it's such a basic simple app I can't imagine why it couldn't run on way older phones. I mean it tells me the set temp and lets me raise or lower it, schedules temp changes, shows element and compressor health and energy usage. That's it. I feel like the stock Android calculator can do more than that. 😂

The scheduling doesn't work for my hybrid hot water heater. It was very difficult to connect it to the Wi-Fi but the rheem customer service rep was very helpful. It's very easy to accidentally touch the screen with the app open and the water heater suddenly heats to 135 degrees.

Terrible app for a hot water heater. Misses out on its potential. You can only set water temperature schedule from 8 am to 10 am and from 6 pm to 9 pm. So if you want to lower the temperature of the hot water when it isn't being used - you're limited to those hours. In other words, if you want to set the water temperature low overnight and have it get hotter in time for a 6 am shower...tough, you're out of luck. The water temp will only get hotter at 8 am. An you are not lowering after 9pm
