The Quest-Isles of Ice & Fire

★★★★★ First RPG I ever played way back on my treo 650 and still play today. Thank you Redshift for the great story lines. I make sure to have the full collection on my cell at all times

★★★★★ This expansion is a stand-alone game (you don't need the Base game to play). There are no in-app purchases, so it is a bargain by itself. If you have the Base game you already know that any expansions to 'The Quest' are worth it.

★★☆☆☆ Quite disappointed by this so far, playing it standalone to see if the main game is worth it. It controls well, button sizes and menus are good. The art style and graphics are quite cool, very vibrant and nice to look at. Lore and the world the game is set in seems interesting and in depth. Also, I very much enjoy that the game is played in portrait, and can be played with one hand. However, the gameplay is very, very tedious, every battle I get into I'm just holding the "swing weapon" button and using heals every now and then. This really isn't all that fun, there's no dynamic or depth to the combat at all. It's just a constant back and forth of "you've been hit, you have hit, you've been hit, you have hit ect" until one of you dies. I feel as though I'm missing a crucial gameplay mechanic? The exploration is really fun, but the combat slows everything down so much that It's not really worth it. Edit: continuing playing the game I have found that the enemy AI is atrocious. Enemies will follow you to the ends of the earth, through cities and towns and even a lake of lava. Ended up with 5 different enemies chasing after me through the first city and repeatedly killing me. There is no point fleeing in combat. This game kinda sucks. I won't be getting the main game.

★★☆☆☆ Loved the original game, but this add-on felt tacky. Like the original game, you can't finish certain quests because of your build. That is a good way to give replay and a vital part of in depth RPGs. Unfortunately the add-on makes large strings of quests unbeatable from this aspect and just leaves a mess in your quest log book. I won't be finishing this add-on.
