I've had a couple bad experiences with Thumbtack. Along with trying to get more money from me than originally agreed upon, but what really was BAD business was the cleaning woman I had for months and then just stopped coming one day. Sylvia is the most unprofessional employee I've dealt with through Thumbtack. I texted her, but no response. The 30 seconds it would've taken her to text me must have been too much for her to do.

They charge pros for the leads as soon as the customer messages them even if they don't get hired. At the same time, they keep recommending customers to message multiple pros for the same job and doesn't inform the customers that the pros are getting charged for receiving the message. As a customer, I'm very unhappy about the platform using this shady practice to take advantage of the pros. They need to change their business model, or we should stop using the platform.
