UPDATE: I have solved the dilemma. I deleted the tree. When I reconnected to the tree, I did not input the model, and let the app find the tree. Upon finding the correct tree, more features appeared in the app. That seemed to solve my dilemma. I like the app. Most of it works. I set a pattern, and it starts. I apply it, and it appears to be downloaded. I put my phone or tablet down, and it runs. In a few minutes, it goes back to default, no Christmas lighting.

Year 5 with Twinkly! Still rocking my original lights, but now paired with Home Assistant for a unified control. The app continues to amaze me with its updates and ease of use and innovations. I cannot recommend these enough! I just wish they were a little more in my price range, so I can buy a bunch more and my house visible from space.

I love how many features, but it only works every once in a while. Most days in the app it won't let me change the lights on the tree, so we are stuck with whatever we chose when the app was working.

The ability to import gifs for Twinkly Squares has been nerfed. My gifs are now cut off and do not finish. Bad enough that I lost my preset creations in a prior update.

App no longer functions. Timer feature doesn't work, and effects can be applied from the app to the lights
