I've had my Gallant boiler for 5 years, initially connected to a basic room thermostat. The smart is a modulating room thermostat, so unlike Hive for example, the smart thermostat connects digitally to your Gallant boiler. As well as switching the boiler on and off, it controls the gas burner output depending on how cold it is outside and how much heat you need to put into your home. This feature has reduced my gas consumption on every bill so far since it was fitted 2 years ago.

Never seems to work....most of the time it just says heating gateway unreachable.....ive tried everything....waste of time and money imo

The app is unreliable and lacks of functionality. I stopped using programs because they are not reliable. 1 times out of 3, my boiler is heating at 20 °C despite the desired temperature is set to 10 degres (and even more, the app is displaying that the target temperature is 10). One day I came back home at 3PM, the temperature in our room was 20 °C, while the program was supposed to heat from 18PM. Also, the hot saltwater come periodically cold despite "hot sanitary water only" mode is on.

When it works it is useful but if you change network or there is no Wi-Fi there is little control: it needs a remote server to work. And if your network is hidden or 5GHz you've had it. Plus all the help topics are after the log-in...duh! The boiler is nonetheless brilliant and reliable. It used to be a requirement of the 10yr warranty to have the Gallant controller and this app, but that is no longer the case, so the heating engineer has switched it for a Honeywell unit which doesn't need Wi-Fi

Outside temperature not correct, also I have a desired temperature on the app at 15 degrees, the thermostat says 19 degrees desired! Hopeless
